How long can I expect my pillow to last?
If cared for properly, your Ballast outdoor pillow should see you through several beach and camping seasons. Here are some important tips to keep in mind.
Use Your Pillow On a Blanket Or Towel
Be sure to protect your pillow from sharp objects, and this includes broken shells, twigs, and craggy rocks, that can sometimes be found in sand. For this reason, we encourage you to place your pillow on a towel rather than directly on the sand itself. Even the softest sand can contain hidden objects that can tear, or puncture, your pillow.
Dry Fabric Completely Before Storing
Make sure the pillow is completely dry before storing it to prevent mold or mildew from forming. Fortunately the Ballast pillow fabric dries fast, especially in the sun.
How do I clean my Ballast outdoor pillow?
The Ballast Beach Pillow is not machine washable, but cleaning it is easy. You can spot clean the fabric with warm water and a cloth. For a more thorough cleaning, shut the air valve and submerge the pillow in soapy water, kneading it gently with your hands. Rinse the pillow in clean water to wash off all soap residue.
Be sure to let the pillow air dry before storing it away to prevent mold or mildew from forming. Never dry the pillow in a tumble dryer as that will damage the internal air bladder.
